A new milestone… opening the vineyard
Jasper Ridge reached a significant milestone this month with the launch of 'Tasting in the Vines'. Collaborating with the MotherPluckers, we established The Wee Wine Shed in a picturesque location overlooking the 'Shed Block' of vines. This new experience invites guests to enjoy our wines amongst the vines, enhancing the appreciation of our hand-tended grapes.

We have welcomed over 200 guests so far, and the responses have been overwhelmingly positive. The authentic rustic outdoor setting, situated beside the vines and the very fruit from which the wines are crafted, enhances the overall experience. Guests appreciate the harmonious connection to the source of the wines, making each tasting not just a sensory journey but also a celebration of nature and craftsmanship.

We offer five tastings for $20, Jasper’s 5* gold award winning Rosé and our current three expressions of Syrah complimented by a guest white wine from Waiheke. Our team guides you through the wines, the viticulture, and the winemaking processes for each selection.
Among our offerings, the 2023 Single Vineyard Syrah has been a favorite and a delightful surprise for many guests. This wine is light-bodied with beautifully delicate and floral notes, complemented by rich dark cherry flavours. Despite the challenging weather conditions in New Zealand in 2023—specifically, the wet weather and cyclones—the fruit used for our 2023 Syrah remained pristine, capturing the essence of the year exquisitely.
We are pleased to add the gold award-winning Mawhitipana Ridge Estate Marsanne as our guest white wine taster. Marsanne is a rare grape variety from the French Northern Rhône appellation, which is also known for producing exceptional Syrah, as is the case with our Jasper Ridge vines. With only 4,500 acres of Marsanne cultivated globally—primarily in the Northern Rhône—this varietal is typically blended with Roussanne. It means this Marsanne is pretty unique and beautiful single varietal wine.
